Uruguay and Italy play each other in all important final group match which will decide fate of these teams in the World Cup 2014.

Italy vs Uruguay : Preview and Predicted Lineup

Luis Suarez will feature in the match from the start.

In the last five meetings between the sides, Italy have been victorious five times while Uruguay have won the match one time. Two matches between the sides have ended in a draw. The most recent meeting between the side was in FIFA Confederations Cup last year and Italy were victorious in penalties then. Edinson Cavani scored a brace in the match which saw Ricardo Montolivo sent off for double caution.

Uruguay were victorious in the previous match after Luis Suarez scored  a brace in his comeback from injury to defeat England 2-1. Uruguay however were poor in the first game and faced a surprise defeat against Costa Rica by 3-1.

Italy were surprised with the loss against Costa Rica last time when they lost out to a Brian Ruiz’s header and the match by 1-0. Their first match win against England have helped them to keep in second place and they will be playing for a draw if they are to register their spot in next round.

Team News:

Italy will revert to 3 men defense after failing to co-op well with four at the back. This will mean Leonardo Bonucci will be at the center and Gianluigi Buffon is expected to start the match. Daniele De Rossi is a doubt for the match and could not start in the lienup.

Diego Lugano and Alvaro Pereira are still a doubt but the later could feature in the match. Maxi Pereira is still out for the match after being suspended against the match against Costa Rica.
