This is the first meeting between the team in International Arena. Both the team are in for the match with victory in their mind. Argentina will book their knockout stage berth with a wi while Iran have a chance to top the group if they pull off a shock here.

Argentina won their first match against Bosnia Herzegovina by 2-1 after Lionel Messi scored the second goal for the team. The first goal for Argentina was an own goal off a corner. Vedad Ibisevic pulled a goal back for the Bosnian team.

Iran held Nigeria in their first match for a goal-less draw. That was the first match of this World Cup which ended without a goal being scored and also a drawn match between the teams.

Team News:

Argentina started with a 3-5-2 formation against Bosnia and they were hugely under pressure while operating in that formation. With the team playing better in second half under 4-3-3, the boss has already said they will be playing in similar tactics in this match. Maxi Rodriguez might start in the trio of Angel Di Maria and Javier Mascherano in the midfield.

Iran looked better in defense against Nigeria as they held the African champions for a 0-0- draw. They were dangerous on the breaks but still failed to score in the game. Coach Carlos Quieroz has already said that he will be stepping down from the post after the World Cup. The coach is expected to field the same team as Nigeria in this game as well.
