Roy Hogdson has been highly criticized for his starting XI and the subs made in the first two matches of the world cup in which England failed to collect even a single point. Now England has only mathematical chances of getting in the Knockout stages of the tournament.

Roy Hodgson: I am not stepping down

Roy Hodgson: I am not stepping down

England should have draw or win against Uruguay to keep their real chances alive to reach the pre-quarters. Now Italy must defeat Uruguay and England must win Costa Rica by a big margin to proceed. Roy loud Luis Suarez after the match and insists they did their best to stop him.

Hodgson said with the media after the match.” No. I don’t have any intention to resign. I’ve been really happy with the way the players have responded to the work we’ve tried to, I’m bitterly disappointed, of course, but I don’t feel I need to resign, no. On the other hand, and if the FA think I’m not the right man to do the job, that will be their decision, and not mine.”

Talking on Suarez Hodgson said.” I thought we controlled Suarez well in general play. He did very, very well to get away to the back post for the first goal, but I thought for long periods of the game we kept him very quiet.”
