Switzerland stuns Ecuador despite being down in the first half. Switzerland scored both goals in the second half and both strike came from the substitutes. Mehmedi and Sefervic scored each in the second half. The winning goal came in only 30 seconds ahead of the final whistle.

Switzerland have their best squad in the history and the way to quarterfinal will create history for them and they are in the group where they can make their dream come true. While Ecuador hasn’t drawn any match in the world cup till now and they also had pressure to win this match to make their name in the next round.

In the 22nd minute of the match Enner Valenica scored on a header for the Ecuador, He utilized pass from Ayovi to score in the open header. Both teams had chances to score in the later minute but failed. Only after the ninth minute of the second half substitute Mehmedi scored an equalizer via header. It was Ricardo Rodriguez, who assisted for the both goals. In the last minute of the injury time Seferevic tapped the incoming ball from Ricardo.

Xardian Shaqiri was declared man of the match.
