Honduras and Turkey play each other ahead of the host nation’s World Cup campaign.
Honduras are preparing for their World Cup campaign and are eying a positive start of the friendlies ahead of the World Cup. They have been pitted in group containing France, Ecuador and Switzerland and they have little hopes of qualifying into the second round for the first time in their history.
They will start their World Cup campaign by playing against the 1998 World Cup winner France and then face Ecuador in the second game. The group stage will end after they play against Switzerland.They will also play England ahead of the World cup campaign starts.
Honduras and Turkey have previously played one match against each other and Turkey won the match 2-0 then. The match was played four years ago and that remains only senior football match between these teams.
The last match Honduras played against was Venezuela in an International Friendly and they won the match 2-1. They will be facing Israel ahead of their World Cup campaign next week.
Turkey on the other hand had their match against Mexico cancelled and beat Ireland 2-1 in the match before. They are playing another World Cup appearing country USA next week.
Head Coach of Honduras National Football Team Luis Armando Suarez announced his 23 men squad couple of days ago and is expected to field his best lineup in this match as part of preparations for the upcoming World Cup.
