NSJF announces nominees of Pulsar Sports Award 2070

Nepal Sports Journalists Forum has announced the nominees for the Pulsar Sports Award 2070 to be held on 18th Jestha 2070.

Bimal Gharti Magar is nominated for Youth Player for the year

Bal Gopal Maharjan is nominated for Coach of the Year while Bimal Gharti Magar is nominated for Youth Player for the year and Popular Player of the year as the only Football representatives in award dominated by the cricketers.

The nominees of four categories were announced on Wednesday. The nominations of Male and Female player of the year was announced along with Youth player of the year and Coach of the year. These categories include five nominees each and are nominated on the basis of their performance in 2070. There are 7 representatives from cricket among the 20 personnel nominated.

Nominees for Male Player of the year include Skipper of National Cricket Team Paras Khadka, along with Subash Khakurel and Basnta Regmi from Cricket. Golfer Shiva Ram Shrestha and Athlete Yam Sajan Sunar are also nominated for the Male Player of the Year. Pubudu Dassanake, coach of National Cricket Team is joined by Bal Gopal Maharjan of Football, Yubaraj Gurung of Wushu, Kapil Kishor Shrestha of Volleyball and Rishi Ram Pradhan of Judo for the Coach of the Year award.

Bimal Gharti Magar of Football, who is also nominated for Popular player of the year joins the list of Sompal Kami and Avinash Karna of Cricket for the Young player of the year. Sirish Gurung of Swimming and Bishal Thapa of Wushu also made it to the nominations of Young Player of the Year.

In the Female Player of the Year category, Judoka Sunita Bohara, Athlete Dil Maya Karki, and Weightlifter Tara Devi Pun joins Cricketer Sita Rana and Swimmer Sofia Shah, who is also nominated for Popular pLayer of the Year award.

The final award ceremony is set to be held at Nepal Pragya Pratishthan on 18th of Jestha.
