Ncell Cup 2070 – Nepal Army Starts with a Win

Nepal Army club open its account in the very first game of the tournament as Nawayug  Shrestha and Padam Tamang scored one each for the winning team.

Tanka Basnet’s run early in the game was followed by a poor final shot as his 9^th minute effort on goal after a fine run was misplayed over the bar in a half that remained rather slow from both the sides.  Tanka Basnet’s powerful shot in 30^th minute was well handled by opponent goal keeper and the first half produced lesser actions.

It was Tanka Basnet again in the second half whose run was followed by a poor pass, he was in good shoting position but decided to pass it to Bharat Khawas.

Army found themselves lucky to get two goals in ending period of the game, the first one came from Nawayug Shrestha in 85^th minute while the second goal came on a free kick which Raju Tamang delivered and Bikesh Kuthu could not grab the ball, Padam Tamang found the rebound which he guided home.

Samsung Jawalakhel youth club head coach Kishor KC claimed that the strategy almost worked, however the match remained unlucky at the last minutes, meanwhile Nepal Army club coach Yogambar Suwal believes the result was fair on their side.
