Three things we learned from first round of Ncell cup

Today Ncell cup’s group stage will be finished after the math between Nepal Police Club and Jawalakhel Youth Club.

The three things that we learnt from First round of the Ncell cup are:

1. Only Big Name’s cannot make the team stronger: Three Star Club, Friends and Himalayan Sherpa all get kicked from the first round. Friends and TSC were drawn in the same group but other two APF and MYA are through the next round. Himalayan Sherpa were drawn in one of the easiest group of the tournament but they settle with a single win only. From Three Star and Friends the playing set for a national team can be drawn easily. Himalayan Sherpa has the finest fresh talent’s of the new ANFA talents.

2. The new entries in the top flight shouldn’t be underestimated: Both Sankata and MYA looked impressing in the group stage. MYA proceeded into the quarterfinal stages after leading the table of the group of the death which includes APF, TSC, Friends Club. Sankata collected 6 points to go through the next round beating Sherpa’s and Bansbari.

3.No Big Name Players are also a threat : The new fresh leg in the domestic football performed the high standard football comparing to old and experienced ones. Subin Shrestha of Boudha, Prakash Budathoki of Freinds, Amar Dongol of RCT, Saroj Dahal of MYA. These names can be in national team squad in near future. Amar Dongol is also the current high scorer in the tournament netting 4 in 3 games.
